I found a guy on craigslist that has a 318 for $300. This seems cheap. It probably has to be rebuilt but I have all summer for that. He also has a 383. But still. This is an important step on my quest for power in the Dart.
I already found the mounts!

Is it sad that at first read I thought you were buying a beater (stolen) BMW instead of a motor?

thought you were talking about bmws till 383 lol.
What I'd do for a viper v10 swapped e46 3 series

I thought the same thing at first!

I think that would be a 384 :p

I'd take the 318 over the 383 honestly. If it needs to be rebuilt, grab a stroker kit and have a freakin' heyday

how do you know I didn't plan on using a 6 grand early viper engine (8.0 L) and boring/stroking it?

Unless that 383 is Cross-Ram equipped. Then buy it and send it to me because it won't look right in your Dart but would fit well in my Dakota please and thank you in advance good sir

My avatar is my old A-body with a 318. A little bit of work and those are some fine engines!

That would be overly complicated and very time consuming...just like, well, putting a Viper engine in a 3-series.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, I dunno lol.
